If you are new to yoga, are deconditioned, recovering from an injury, or just looking for a more gentle form of yoga, Gentle Yoga is the class for you. The class focuses on fundamental yoga poses and learning to regulate the breath, similar to my Yoga Basics classes, just a slower, more gentle version. Proper alignment, various breathing techniques and moving mindfully will be emphasized.
For those who find sitting on the floor difficult, you will be encouraged to sit on a chair instead. You will learn how to use chairs and other props (blankets, blocks, straps and walls) to enhance accessibility to the poses.
This holistic class will be offered at Bay Shore Community Center in the near future.
