Yoga Basics
Yoga Basics is designed to focus on the fundamental yoga postures and regulation of the breath. As with all my classes, proper alignment, breath control and mindful movement are emphasized. Throughout each class I offer options on how to explore the poses so you can kick it up a notch or take it down a notch, depending on your ability on a moment-by-moment, pose-by-pose basis. You will learn how to use props to enhance the accessibility of the poses, and how to develop proprioception (where your body is in space) and interoception (understanding what is happening inside your body and mind).
As I guide you through the practice, you may also receive gentle verbal recommendations from me from time to time, with the intent of enhancing your awareness and experience. Whether you are new to yoga, returning after a long absence or injury, or have been practicing for years, you will likely be able to participate in this class.
This class will be offered as a Hybrid class, so if you can’t make it in person at Bay Shore Community Center, Belmont Shore, CA, you can still join in the live class via Zoom (a link will be sent to you for your use).
